The COVID-19 diaries: the bear hunt

And the weather now is truly Wuthering AF, as my friend George described it. It is windy, it is rainy. I might put my raincoat and gumboots on and pretend that I’m Cathy searching for Heathcliff in the hills, but Heathcliff is in social isolation if he knows what’s good for him.
The bear hunt is quite a cute idea, endorsed by the prime minister, and our bear has special significance. It was sent from the US by my diabetes nurse who looked after me whilst I was pregnant with my first child. I wrote about her here. The bear is 16 years old, a little younger than my oldest child, who will probably turn 17 in captivity.
Thank you for all your lovely words of encouragement! I hope you are all doing okay out there….
You really nailed exercise in isolation, life goes on, but in new and different ways…
This afternoon I walked down to the local 4Square to get some potatoes as there were apparently long cues in the rain to get in at the supermarkets. There was so few cars on the road that people were walking and running down the road. It was just as if the roads had been closed for a parade.Except no parade today!

You can’t help but smile on the inside when you see a Teddy Bear. I love the idea that we are showing our special Bears to the whoever walks by. Our daughter is putting hers on display and I’m putting my old bears up (yes I have a few that I’ve never be able to let go of). Still know all there names too. Yep, I know what you mean about the weather Sarah. Early in to the lock-down the days got a little cooler, grayer and wetter and it didn’t help. Sun is out again today and it sure gives you a lift.
