Talking to myself

13/08/2012

So what do you think, am I crazy? Or do you talk to yourself too? The other day Gus set the Photobooth webcam running, and I surfed the internet for half an hour before I realised I was being filmed. When I played it back, I was horrified to see how much I scowled and muttered at the screen. I’d show it to you, if I could figure out how to edit out the face-picking parts.

Oh, and if you were wondering what Gus is singing, the boys have become obsessed with Minecraft songs. Here’s the nooby one, and here’s the party rock on that is also on high-rotate.

That’s so funny, I was just thinking this morning I seem to talk to myself a lot in the car, whether my toddler is there or not. Probably why I passed the segment of my full driving test that involved talking through the traffic dangers with flying colours. Really need to cut down on the swears while driving though, the mimic stage is becoming quite advanced now.

not crazy, just a laing, I have taken to saying mutter mutter mutter to express the fact that I’m doing an internal diatribe.

I talk to myself all the time. Every now and then someone will catch me at it and I realise maybe it is unusual.

Oh yes. I am a very good conversation partner with myself. The famous people don’t answer me back, though. My problem is that sometimes I’m not sure if it’s something I’ve thought to myself, or something I’ve said aloud – am left wondering if the person I was speaking to could here my beautiful “inner voice” as well. Maybe that IS the sign of madness….hmmm?

I was thinking just today that sometimes I make up characters so I have a valid excuse to talk to myself/argue with myself about things that puzzle me, hoping that the conflicts I create between characters (& their resolution) will teach me something about how I want to live. Weird.
