Here’s the article I read. Gary Shteyngart has written three books. I read The Debutante’s Handbook, and loved it. I abandoned Absurdistan, and I have reserved Super Sad True Love Story at the library.

I really wish you would call yourself a proper writer – with two books published which both got rave reviews – otherwise I won’t be able to call myself a proper writer with my one small volume of poetry at the end of the year. You are setting the bar impossibly high, man! Think of the little people.

Beautiful. I read Super Sad True Love Story earlier this year and became a bit obsessed with Gary. He’s very obsessable. But he seems somehow unreal and unknowable as a person – whereas, from your work, you are the opposite!
