I can’t accurately describe the Sufjan Stevens concert, and other people’s iPhones can’t record it. But here are some photos, which might give you an idea.

i love this post, sarah. the whole SS experience was hard to explain, wasn’t it? the balloons at the end were my favourite (the kids would have loved them too- they begged us to take them with us!)
I know, it would have been great for kids. I thought that Otto would have loved it. It would have totally freaked Gus out.
i remember this eye test. my flatmate, who’s father was a chemist, told me what they put in your eye is a cocaine derivative… the thing that people break into pharmacies for. So I had cocaine in my eye! Turned out to be just a bit of retina floating about, causing a weird cursor type effect, very common evidently. and i walk home in a blur…
Oh, cocaine in the eye! I feel so A-class. Good to know that I’m not the only one with dodgy retinas.
Someone in front of us at SS brought their very, very tiny baby. I couldn’t decide if they were brave or stupid, but in the end I just felt incredibly sorry for them – the baby started wailing as soon as the first song started and its mother (it’s always the mother, right?) disappeared into the night. Sigh. Hope your retinas (and zombie son) have recovered…
