More experiments in style – it is, after all, the holiday season. Did I mention how great the Vanessa Davis book is? She reminded me of the wonderful and outrageously prolific Joann Sfar, who gets away with messy watercolour. I also got a cool children’s book out from the library, from another one of my favourites, Maira Kalman, who teamed up with Lemony Snicket. She’s not messy, more like skewed.

Today’s scrawls are brought to you in pencil. All the decent stationery stores are closed and my cheap paper ate my staedler nib.
New Year’s Resolutions
Please excuse the messy water colour. I was spurred on after reading Vanessa Davis, who does beautiful colouring. Next time I’ll try not to colour so quickly. Or else I won’t colour at all.

Don’t worry, this isn’t the end of the blog, this is just the end of the residency. I will take a break though. Perhaps for a week or two. I need time to finish up some other things and do my Christmas shopping. Feel free to suggest a new name for this blog!
