So close, so far
I am in the midst of completing a Masters of Design (two weeks to go!) and my life feels a bit chaotic at the moment but I thought I’d do a news dump so I could make sense of this blur in retrospect.
So what’s been happening? First up, Three Words was published last week, and people began to tweet book images, and to put up lovely book reviews.
We had a launch in Auckland and people made cake:
We are going to have another launch in Wellington this weekend as part of the Writers Festival (come along!) and the very talented Rebecca Hawkes made us this poster to advertise it:
I am going to be chairing a panel with the amazing Mariko Tamaki of Skim and This One Summer fame, along with local creative geniuses, Courtney Sina Meredith and Kerry Ann Lee, at Writers Week this Saturday. Come along!
Comics-wise, well, I’ve been working on my forthcoming graphic novel, Mansfield and Me. This is the cover for now. It might change before it gets published by VUP in October.
Glory Days wrote an article and you can see a few pages from it:
I drew a bunch of comics for Metro that Simon Wilson wrote, and I’m in the midst of doing some drawings for Gecko, including pictures of Taylor Swift and Lorde.
And, because I still feel mildly guilty about not feeding my blog with new images, here is a downloadable poster that you can sneakily print on your work colour copier (or print out on your home laser and colour in and enjoy the therapeutic benefits!)
Happy International Women’s Day!
Great to see you back Sarah, keep it up
More wonderful funny stuff from you Sarah. You are amazing! x
