Neighbours

04/01/2012

You might notice that this post has an interesting effect. It’s because I thought it sucked and I tore it up. Which was very therapeutic at the time (those resonant ripping sounds! That slight resistance before my work was destroyed!) but I regretted it afterwards. So what if it sucked. This is a blog, a first draft, a thinking-out-loud, not a polished piece of work. I pieced the paper back together, which was also a satisfying act, then taped it and scanned it. I still think it needs work, but what the hell. Happy 2012! Expect more messy, half-finished work from me this year!

This first draft is awesome (per usual, I expect). I look forward to further messiness this year, Sarah! O – and your Fleet Foxes strip in Metro is likewise amazing x

I’m so glad you taped it back together because it so doesn’t suck! It’s funny! Thanks for saving it and posting it. xx H

Love the mess, embrace the mess, post the mess (which is actually awesome). But you can keep the cat with the starfish and kina butt! Happy new Year 🙂

Lovely – and I think the rips and creases are quite visually appealing!

Your neighbour sounds most interesting and the cat looks very cute!
Re the Sallies, an ex-Sally friend of mine recently showed me an apology (or at least a statement of regret for any hurt caused) that the Sallies made a few years ago for their opposition to homosexual law reform. Apparently it was only some within the organisation who were responsible for the anti-gay campaigning at the time, rather than it being a universally endorsed policy. I get the impression the Sallies are genuinely trying to mend their relationship with the LGBTI community.
