Vegetarian, part 1

This comic morphed into something entirely different from what I intended, so now it’s going to be a 2 or 3-parter, depending on what it decides to do with itself. Actually most of my comics have a life of their own. I really should move beyond first-draft phase, and then I’d have more control over them. Also I could add colour and line variation – aah, time, that’s what I need.
The book in question is Laurel’s Kitchen. It has the most beautiful woodblock illustrations in it. And here is an interview from Smash Hits 1985, about Morrissey’s vegetarianism.

Jeez – did they really make you play “cut the carrot” at parties, Sarah? Or was that just added for dramatic effect?
That interview with Moz is hilarious – “I have a daily intake of yoghurt and bread.”
It was just once – a very *thoughtful* mother making the substitution – people try so hard, bless them. It’s unfortunate that they often get it wrong!
It is a good article, eh, and Moz looks so young!

In defence of ‘Sage’, I loved their lasagne and spiced apple slice…. (wistful)
I liked Sage too, Pauline! I don’t know why I drew myself looking annoyed.
There was that other vege wholemealy cafe, too, on George Street where they they would have a harp player in the window on Friday nights. (Can’t remember what it was called…)
I love the picture of little you with your pockets bulging with sausages. 🙂

Just discovered your wonderful work! Looking forward to more – I especially loved the vegetarian bit. You are now bookmarked you fit in just fine with all the other wonderful storytelling geniuses I read daily.
I still use Laurel for my bread (partly because I gave you the river cottage bead book, knew as it left my hands that I was being foolish)
next comic must include robyn’s vegetarian cooking night classes and the horrors of hunza pie, meatless mousaka and lasagna as a teenager
