On my work days I catch the no. 30 express bus to town. The 8.05 is a wonderful bus – it’s just five minutes after the previous 30, so you often get a whole seat to yourself. And the driver, a 60ish Pakeha man, is incredibly upbeat and smiley and chatty – ‘How was your weekend?’ and so on. He often stops to pick people up between bus stops, if he sees a regular passenger hurrying to get to the stop. I love that bus.
